Published Wednesday Oct 2, 2013

Manchester, N.H. (August 13, 2013)—Wedu announced today that the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) awarded the agency a renewed contract for the New Hampshire Driving Toward Zero program (NHDTZ), a collaborative effort among public and private entities to create a culture of safety and reduce fatalities resulting from crashes on the state’s roadways.

wedu developed the New Hampshire Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP), for which relevant roadway safety-related data was gathered, analyzed and shared. Various areas of concern were carefully considered by a committee comprising members from state, federal and private agencies and led by NHDOT. The plan provides a roadmap for state agencies and the private sector to work together to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities on the state’s roadways.
The agency also created and implemented an integrated communications plan which included program branding, as well as traditional and digital marketing and public relations efforts. The agency will expand upon its marketing efforts over this next two-year contract period through targeted advertising, grassroots marketing, publicity and NHDTZ’s robust social media channels.
“wedu did an excellent job of introducing the NHDTZ program to New Hampshire in 2012,” said Christopher Clement, Commissioner, New Hampshire Department of Transportation. “The agency has proven to be a capable partner in helping us to reach many audiences throughout the state, and we are excited to build upon this momentum and continue to raise awareness of roadway safety issues. DOT and NHDTZ coalition members are committed to helping to create a safety culture through education, enforcement, engineering and emergency management solutions.”
“We are honored to have the opportunity to continue working with the Department of Transportation and the entire New Hampshire Driving Toward Zero Deaths coalition,” said Sean Owen, wedu President and CEO. “New Hampshire is our home and we are committed to helping to make our roadways safer for all.”
The New Hampshire Driving Toward Zero Deaths Coalition is a collaborative effort of public and private entities whose mission is to create a culture of safety to reduce crashes resulting in serious injuries and fatalities on New Hampshire roadways.
