NH Bookings Up for 2011

In what could be another sign that the New Hampshire economy is beginning to rebound, the Inns and Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith, is reporting an increase of nearly 20 percent in advance reservations this year over last. The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls also reported that corporate meetings and social events are showing an increase of nearly 25 percent.

We are thrilled that both leisure and business travel reservations are coming in early and at such a high rate, and we are optimistic that it is indicative of a strong summer for tourism in the Lakes region, said Michelle Brown, marketing director for the Inns & Spa at Mill Falls.

Brown adds that visitors are drawn to the picturesque scenery as well as the many varied activities and events in around Lake Winnipesaukee. Whether guests are looking to go kayaking, sailing or hiking, enjoy cruises aboard the M/S Mt. Washington, or take a trip down memory lane at the Weirs Beach Drive-inthere is something for everyone here in the Lakes Region.

Lakes Region Tourism Executive Vice President Kim Sperry, said, The Lakes Region is buzzing with all sorts of new activityfrom new businesses to existing businesses making substantial capital improvements. Sperry added that the New American Police Motorcycle Museum will be opening in May; Monkey Trunks is opening a new location at Weirs Beach; Gunstock is investing more than $2 million into renovations for summer activities, and Daytona Fun Park is installing a new Skytrail Adventure Ropes Course.

The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls currently is completing renovations at Church Landing to accommodate more event space and provide flexibility to groups that require additional breakout rooms, vendor space and dining areas. The Church Landing carport is being enclosed to hold 1,700 additional square feet of meeting space and an expanded lobby area of 955 square feet, with 14-foot ceilings. The new facility will be called the Carriage House and will offer extensive views of Lake Winnipesaukee.

In addition, the property is renovating the interiors of two cottages the Perch and the Lake Shore, both of which offer stunning views of the lake and mountains adjacent to Church Landing.

The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls was among the New Hampshire properties participating in Discover New England's recent 16th Annual Tourism Summit and International Marketplace. The conference hosted nearly 80 international tour operators, who met with about 300 New England venues, including 65 in NH.
