Nashua Chef Named Chef of the Year

The American Culinary Federation, Professional Chefs of New Hampshire has announced Martin LeGay as the New Hampshire 2011 CHEF OF THE YEAR

LeGay is the executive chef at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua where he operates two kitchen facilities. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, LeGay has worked in several kitchens in Boston and New York City. He is the current chairman of the advisory committee for the Culinary Arts/Hospitality Program at Nashua High School and a Certified Culinary Arts Instructor in the State of Massachusetts. He has received awards for best appetizer in 2000 and 1998 and for best entre in 1997 at the Lowell, Massachusetts' Taste Of The Town competition. Under his direction, the Crowne Plaza Nashua was voted 2010 Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter.

The ACF Chef of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding culinarian who works and cooks in a full-service dining facility. This individual has demonstrated the highest standard of culinary skills, advanced the cuisine of America and given back to the profession through the development of students and apprentices. LeGay also received the ACF Chef of the Year award in 2005, the ACF Presidents Award in 2007 and he is currently serving as the chapter's vice president.
