Manchester's Merchants Host ""The Shoppes of Historic Downtown""

Manchester's merchants are hosting "The Shoppes of Historic Downtown" to welcome families to its "1st Annual Oktoberfest" on Saturday, October 18, 2008. Family friendly festivities will take place between 11a.m. to 3 p.m. at several shops, salons, galleries, and eateries in downtown Manchester, offering residents and visitors a chance to see what the city center has to offer.

Participating merchants include Penuche's Grill, Rheault Photographers, A Break in Time, Shop Estella, The New England Sampler, 26th on Hanover, Elizabeth's on Elm, With Heart and Hand, The Gentlemen's Barber Shoppe, Body and Soul, The UPS Store, Dumbass, Edible Arrangemnents, Piccola's, Ben & Jerry's and A Timeless Treasure. Activities will be hosted at each shop and include pumpkin bowling, face painting, pumpkin painting, foam hat painting, a bounce house, mini manicures, massage, nail art stamping, food tastings, a grill and beer tent, live music and more.

The Shoppes of Historic Downtown is a group of dedicated business owners aimed at promoting Manchester's downtown as a destination for families, visitors, and shoppers.
