According to the Concord Patch, Gov. John Lynch, D-Hopkinton, nominated a local attorney to the Supreme Court on May 9. In a statement, the governor said he would nominate Jim Bassett of Orr & Reno, stating that he had a deep and broad knowledge of the law and has litigated numerous complex civil and constitutional cases and long and active community involvement which will make him a great addition to our state's highest court.
Bassett has been an attorney at Orr& reno for 27 years. According to the Concord Patch report, Bassett has also served as a selectman and Planning Board member in Canterbury.
