Published Monday Mar 17, 2014

The Manchester Community Music School is hosting the Share the Music Gala: Dancing with the Stars on March 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the new student center at Manchester Community College. Local business leaders will put on their dancing shoes to help raise money for MCMS’ financial aid fund and music education programs. Stars competing for the coveted mirror ball trophy and endless bragging rights are: Cathy Schmidt, executive director and CEO, McLane Law Firm in Manchester;
Pubali Chakravorty Campbell of Bikram Yoga Manchester; Alex Walker, senior vice president, operations & strategy at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester; and Joe Graham, vice president and general manager of Clear Channel New Hampshire.
These stars are paired with professional dancers from Dimension in Dance and Royal Palace Dance Studio, both in Manchester.

The evening features specialty drinks from the AutoFair Broadway Bar, fabulous small plates, live and silent auctions, and the award-winning NH Youth Jazz Ensemble conducted by Carl Benevides. Audience members get to vote for their favorite dancer.

Judges for the evening are Beth Roberts, senior vice president, regional markets, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care; Katie McQuaid Cote of the NH Union Leader’s “Katie McQuaid’s Scene in Manchester”; Mike L’Ecuyer, president and CEO of Bellwether Community Credit Union in Manchester and last year’s champion; and
 Jill Deleault, Music School voice faculty, former Miss Nebraska, and local musical director and choreographer.

Tickets are $75 for general admission or $100 VIP, and can be purchased online at mcmusicschool.org/mcms-gala or by calling 603-644-4548. This is the Music School’s largest fundraiser and proceeds for the evening support our need-based Financial Aid Fund and music education programs.
