Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MD, has been appointed interim president and CEO of New London Hospital, which is part of Dartmouth Health. She succeeds Tom Manion, who recently accepted the position as COO of Dartmouth Health’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Geddes Wirth currently serves as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at New London Hospital and will continue to do so during her interim role.

Geddes Wirth joined New London Hopsital (NLH) in September 2023 from the Mass General Brigham health system. She graduated from Dartmouth College and the Brown-Dartmouth Program in Medicine. Geddes Wirth completed her pediatric residency at Brown University’s Hasbro Children’s Hospital/Rhode Island Hospital and was selected to serve an additional year as chief resident in pediatrics. Upon completing her residency, she established a pediatric practice in Sudbury, MA, that later became Mill Brook Pediatrics, a Mass General Brigham health system independent affiliate.

“Since her arrival to NLH six months ago, Dr. Geddes Wirth has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and a profound understanding of our organization as our CMO,” says Jeff Hollinger, chair of the hospital's board of trustees. Geddes Wirth will begin her new responsibilities on April 3, 2024.

“I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity that empowers our staff to advance NLH’s mission of providing exceptional care and service to our community,” says Geddes Wirth.
