J. Dub's Coffee Opens in Downtown Manchester

Published Monday Oct 6, 2008

J Dub's Coffee, a caf featuring espresso drinks, pastries, smoothies and traditional brewed coffees, recently opened in Manchester, giving Queen City students, business people and shoppers a new coffee shop where they can grab a beverage and snack.

"We want to change the way people get their morning coffee in Manchester," says Jim Whitney, who owns the coffee shop with his wife Felicia. "At J. Dub's, customers are going to get an outstanding cup of coffee, along with an amazing experience."

Whitney says he has researched the history of coffee and espresso bean roasts, and personally selected the blends he will feature. He says he was also professionally trained in the art of creating espresso beverages, whipping up traditional lattes and cappuccinos.

The shop, which is family-owned and operated, is the realization of a life-long dream for Whitney, who recently retired from corporate America to open the caf. J Dub's Coffee also features pastries baked by Felicia at the Whitney's home kitchen in Hudson.

"We really love Manchester and we're committed to becoming an active part of this community," Whitney says. "Manchester is thriving right now, complete with a healthy business scene and thousands of college students, and we're thrilled to be a part of the city's growth."

To formally introduce J. Dub's Coffee to Manchester, the shop will host a grand opening celebration on Tuesday, October 14. The celebration will feature free samples and a raffle to win free coffee for a month. Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta has also been invited for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
