Published Thursday Mar 15, 2018

Horizons Engineering, Inc., a Littleton civil and environmental engineering and land surveying firm, has recently added a fourth office.  On March 9, the company finalized acquisition of Harrington Engineering Inc., of North Pomfret, Vermont. The acquisition will enable Horizons, with offices in Newport, Vermont, and Littleton and New London, NH to expand their ability to serve clients in central and southern Vermont and western NH.

“Harrington Engineering has been well respected in Vermont for their civil engineering and permitting expertise and no-nonsense approach.” Jon Warzocha, CEO of Horizons Engineering says. “We feel that they are a natural fit with the Horizons team, and we look forward to building on the strong existing relationships they have with their clients, regulators, and subcontractors.”

Founded in 2004, Horizons Engineering has experienced steady growth since its inception and currently employs approximately 30 civil engineers, surveyors, drafters, environmental and support staff. The company provides civil and environmental engineering, environmental permitting, hydrogeological, and land survey services throughout northern New England. Bob Harrington, the principal of Harrington Engineering, will continue with Horizons as an associate principal engineer. His son Jon Harrington will be the lead civil engineer for Horizons’ Vermont engineering group and responsible for managing the day to day operations of the new Pomfret office.

“Horizons is very much looking forward to expanding our resort, municipal, utility, and private-sector client base in Vermont and Western NH,” Warzocha says, “The Pomfret team is looking forward to being able to offer a broader array of in-house services with the same client dedication they’ve had for over 30 years.”
