Published Tuesday Dec 2, 2008

As part of the NH Division of Travel and Tourism's (NH DTTD) ongoing Rediscover Your New Hampshire program, Gov. John Lynch cut a Christmas tree at Rossview Farm in Concord to help promote the approximately 100 tree farms in the state. The Governor was joined by Agriculture Commissioner Lorraine Merrill and NH DTTD Director Alice DeSouza. New Hampshire tree farms, including Rossview Farm are expecting a busy holiday season, anticipating about $4 million in Christmas tree sales.

"Choosing and cutting a fresh Christmas tree is an annual tradition that many New Hampshire families share, saidGovernor Lynch. New Hampshire is home to a number of tree farms where families can come together to celebrate this time-honored holiday tradition."

After cutting the tree, Gov. Lynch presented it to the Kilmer Family of Boscawen. Donald and Joyce Kilmer are members of the National Guard where Donald is a staff sergeant with the Army National Guard, currently deployed in Afghanistan, and Joyce is a master sergeant in the Air National Guard stationed in Concord. She attended the tree-cutting ceremony with the couple's three children.
