Fred Kocher Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Published Friday Jun 13, 2014

Fred Kocher, former president of the NH High Tech Council and leader in New Hampshire’s business community, was recognized by the NHHTC for his accomplishments. At the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) event, he was given the Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award in front of friends, colleagues, and family members.

Kocher served as the face of the NHHTC as its president for 14 years until stepping down in 2013. He is now a trustee and continues to support the organization through work re-engaging fellow trustees. Kocher is co-founder and helps lead the NH Coalition for Business and Education, runs a consulting firm, Kocher & Co., and continues to host and produce “NH’s Business,” a weekly program that has aired on WMUR for 20 years.

“Fred has made a direct impact on so many businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals within New Hampshire during his amazing career. He commands so much respect from so many people, and it was our true honor to recognize him with our most prestigious award,” said Paul Mailhot, NHHTC board chair. “I am very glad that I had the opportunity to work with him on the board and that our paths will continue to cross.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award is given out periodically to outstanding individuals who have made a significant positive impact on the NHHTC. To pay tribute to Kocher, WMUR produced a “news spot” aired at the event that encapsulated his career. Governor Maggie Hassan was on hand to recognize him.

The NH High Tech Council engages, connects, and supports member companies throughout New Hampshire. As the largest member-driven technology association in the state, the Council supports research, innovation, and economic and workforce development efforts that have helped New Hampshire become a national leader in entrepreneurship and business.
