Elliott Hospital First in State With Mobile App

Published Friday Feb 24, 2012

Elliot Health System in Manchester has launched the first in the state mobile app for its personal health record available now via mobile phone. Mobile MyEChart allows patients of Elliot who have established a MyEChart account, a portal to one's personal health record, to simply download the MyChart app on an iPhone or Android, choose New Hampshire and then select the only available option, MyEChart.

This application is so simple to use and acts as an extension of our patients' personal health record. ... Through the mobile app, patients have access to their test results when released by their doctor, the ability to view and respond to messages from their doctor's office, see upcoming and past appointments, and view a list of their medications, allergies, and preventative health alerts all from their smart phone, explains Denise Purington, vice president and chief information officer for the hospital.

The advantage I see is the ease by which we are making care coordination between doctors and patients available. This application requires nothing more sophisticated than the use of your phone, says Doug Dean, Elliot president and CEO.

Elliot Health System was recently named among the Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation for Most Wired. The hospital stated in a press release that this new mobile app is yet another example of Elliot's use of technology to create advantages for patients and allow for their participation in their own health care.
