Co-Founder of HBO's Def Poetry Jam to Visit Manchester Nov. 14

Bruce George, co-founder of Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam on HBO, will be presenting at UNH Manchester on Wednesday, November 14. George is also the founder and managing editor of "The Bandana Republic, an anthology of poetry and prose by gang members and their affiliates. He has written poetry and prose for more than 37 years.

George will be giving a lecture on the "Politics of Artistic Expression" from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Following the lecture, he will lead a poetry writing workshop from 5 to 6:45 p.m.
The culminating event is a Poetry Slam, judged by George. The Poetry Slam will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the third floor auditorium at UNH Manchester.
 
The events are free, and open to the public and will be held in UNH Manchester's third floor auditorium at 400 Commercial Street. Guests may attend only one, or all three events. An RSVP is required, visit www.nhinkblot.org.
