Merchants Fleet is on a mission to become the largest fleet management company of electrified vehicles (EV) and ensures its employees are part of that mission. Merchants employees who purchase an EV can receive up to $2,500 in reimbursements from the company and up to $400 for installing home charging stations.

Merchants Fleet also launched an employee recognition platform called Merchants Prime where managers and peers can recognize employees, providing points that can be redeemed for gifts and experiences. The platform also recognizes everyone having an anniversary using the company-wide recognition feed. On an employee’s fifth anniversary, and every five years after, they receive a digital memory book signed by coworkers with shared memories and photos. In 2022, 96% of employees received a recognition through 2,600 peer-to-peer recognitions and 700 supervisor-to-staff recognitions.

Merchants created the Feel Good, Do Good, Be Good program that provides five days beyond the paid time-off package for employees to use to care for their physical and mental health, or volunteer in their community. Merchants also refreshed its wellness program around three pillars: mind, body, and soul. In addition to an onsite gym, Merchants offers fitness and nutrition consulting and launched a new health plan that covers more than 90% of medical plan premiums. It also added mental health resources and support. And in 2022, it issued an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) challenge to employees with $24,000 in giveaways. Employees were encouraged to volunteer in the community, celebrate their peers and submit innovative ideas to positively impact the world. More than half of the company participated, logging more than 500 volunteer hours, 1,400 employee celebrations and 35 new ESG innovation proposals.
