The Exeter Area YMCA includes a “waterfall” structure that spans two stories and ends in a stained concrete floor that features a “river” that was also created using stain. The river winds its way back to a cozy spot with a fireplace. The design uses the five earth elements—water, fire, metal, wood, and air—to bring a sense of comfort and groundedness.
