April is National Financial Literacy Month

Published Friday Apr 4, 2014

April is National Financial Literacy Month. To celebrate, Citizens Bank has announced enhancements to its financial literacy program, Citizens Helping Citizens Manage Money.

The bank is now accepting applications from nonprofits that deliver financial literacy programming to adults. Sizes range from $10,000 - $50,000. For more information, applicants can visit the Citizens Bank charitable grants page (www.citizensbank.com/community/corporate/grants.aspx). Applications should be submitted by April 25, 2014.

This program gives consumers and small businesses resources to budget, save, invest and generally be fiscally healthy. One new component is $1.5 million in funding to be made in Citizens Bank communities, a social media initiative that encourages the public to honor their “Money Mentors” on Facebook and Twitter using the #moneymentor hashtag, and new online resources.
