Alpha Loft, a business incubator and accelerator for early-stage NH companies with offices in Manchester and Portsmouth, will again be offering its free Startup Fundamentals program for NH startup founders. The 6-week curriculum covers many aspects of building a startup, including evaluating ideas, business models, value propositions, product/market fit, customers, revenue models, financing, pitching and more.

The program has proven valuable for some startup founders, including Sumner Vanderhoof of addapptation in Newfields, which build Micro Apps to streamline cloud platform projects. Vanderhoof participated in the Fall 2016 Startup Fundamentals program and was later accepted into Accelerate NH 2017, won the MYPN Startup Challenge, and was awarded a $100,000 investment by the Millworks Fund II during the Accelerate NH Demo Day.

“Startup Fundamentals helped me resolve several complicated questions about customers and value," says Vanderhoof. "In addition to the course work I received great peer feedback on an early version of my business concept. The overall program provided great direction, helping us understand the opportunities to pursue.”

Individuals currently working on startups in NH are encouraged to apply by August 13, with applications available here. There will be two program periods: one for the Seacoast area, running September through early October, and another for the Manchester area, running mid-October through mid-November.  Applications are taken at the same time for both programs.
