In the spotlight: The Centennial Hotel in Concord is among five New England properties owned by Hay Creek Hotels in Exeter that were named to the Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards list for 2018. Also  included are: the #1 ranked hotel in New England - Windham Hill Inn, West Townshend, VT; Chebeague Island Inn, Chebeague Island, Maine; Orchards Hotel, Williamstown, MA, and The Breakwater Inn & Spa, Kennebunkport, ME. Conde Nast Traveler's annual Readers' Choice Awards receive over 429,000 responses from domestic and international travelers worldwide who rank top hotels throughout the US.

Allen & Major Associates, a consulting firm with offices in Manchester, and Woburn and Lakeville, MA, has hired Thomas Rigg to its structural division. Rigg has more than 23 years of experience and carries professional licenses in MA, NH, VT, OK, and TN. He will lend his expertise to their commercial, multi-family and specialty projects.

Turnstone Corporation in Milford is partnering with the NH Division of Public Works on a systems project at the Milford National Guard Armory to install a new heating system, including a fuel change from oil to propane; the removal of an underground oil tank and installation of new underground propane tanks; as well as other energy-saving measures. The project is scheduled to begin this month with completion expected by Spring 2019.

The 2018 Hampton Beach Seafood Festival raised more than $35,000 to support area nonprofits. The annual event, run by the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, raises funds for organizations including the Hampton Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, and the Winnacunnet High School ROTC program.
