In the spotlight:Tito’s Handmade Vodka recently donated $20,000 to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire (ARLNH) as part of NH Liquor Commission’s Distiller’s Showcase. The vodka company vowed to donate one dollar for every Tito’s Handmade Vodka & Lemonade drink sold at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, this past summer. The recent donation tops Tito’s donation, last year of $16, 500.

Easterseals New Hampshire received a $10,000 grant from Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation to support its New Americans Employment Training Program, which trains immigrant workers to help children with disabilities. The grant is part of Eastern’s Targeted Grant focus of supporting immigrants in our communities.

LaBelle Winery recently opened a tasting room and gift shop in the historic Kearsarge House. The 2,717 square feet tasting room was leased to the award-winning winery by Colliers International, a global leader in commercial real estate services. Amy LaBelle, the founder and winemaker, said, “Portsmouth is such a special place, and I couldn’t be more excited to open our new tasting room right near Market Square. We are the first winery presence in historic Portsmouth and look forward to sharing our award-winning wines with residents of this vibrant community and visitors to the Seacoast region.”

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) recently conferred Dr.Vasuki Nagaraj with the Degree of Fellow.Nagaraj currently serves as the Medical Director for  Lamprey Health Care ‘s Nashua Center. He joined in 2008. In 2001, he received a Medical Degree from J.J.M. Medical College in Davangere and completed his Masters of Public Health degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX in 2003.

The Lovering Volvo Grand Opening Reception recently raised $10,650 for CASA of New Hampshire, which is an organization that recruits, trains and supervises volunteers from around NH who serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in the state’s family court system. The silent auction took place at the new Lovering Volvo Cars Nahshua, which is located on Daniel Webster Highway.

The Works Café in Keene, New Hampshire recently launched a new online ordering application, that works for iOS and Android. The café’s customers can now place orders directly from their phone or tablet. The Works Café partnered with Incentivio, a mobile first engagement platform, to develop the application, which can be downloaded on the App Store, Google Play, and the café.

Northeast Credit Union (NECU) and its community members united to support Hunger Action Month, an awareness initiative started by Feeding America. NECU collected donations in all 20 of their branches throughout New Hampshire and Maine, in September. NECU also partnered with The New Hampshire Food Bank and the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine to collect of food donations and distribute to local food pantries. Together, they collected 662 pounds of food, which allows the food bank to provide 552 meals for people facing hunger in NH.
