Walk out your door on warm spring or summer day and look at a flowering bush and it is filled with bees. That would not seem to suggest a species in danger. But anyone in agriculture will tell you that bees have been much less prevalent in recent years, and they are essential to the agriculture industry, adding billions of dollars of value to the industry nationally.
