A speaker on contemporary American architecture and design is coming to New Hampshire to discuss how to live a more sustainable life. Sarah Susanka, author of the series, Not So Big: The First Step in Sustainability for Home and for Life, will appear at the Palace Theatre in Manchester November 13 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saranka has appeared on Good Morning America," Oprah, and Charlie Rose.
Ten years ago, Sarah Susanka revolutionized the way we think about homebuilding, and we are thrilled to be bringing her to Manchester, says Andi Axman, committee member of the American Institute of Architect's NH chapter. Given what is going on with the economy and our cultural trends today, Sarah's not so big' philosophy is most timely.
Susanka has written seven books in the Not So Big series. In her talk, she will discuss the concepts that served as inspiration for those books, which have sold more than one million copies. Susanka will address her belief that the sense of home that people are seeking has almost nothing to do with where people live, but rather, how.
Thomas Morre, the NH author of Care of the Soul and other books on spirituality and religion, says of Susanka's philosophy, Scaling down your life, like scaling down your house, is a good way to open your eyes to a new world and a new life.
