I hear it even from my friends who know what I do for a living. “I can’t handle the news anymore. I’m taking a break for my sanity.” And I get it. The world is intense lately. But life keeps moving on and staying informed is more important now than ever.

Here’s the thing. Not all news is bad news. We’re also here to celebrate and elevate NH’s business community. And we are ready to celebrate.

The Best Companies to Work For competition is now open and applications must be completed by May 16. Companies are still hiring and needing to attract the best talent. What better way than earning the designation as one of NH’s top employers? Employers must complete an extensive application describing their benefits and culture while 50% of their NH workforce must complete an employee engagement pulse survey. And whether you win or lose, all participants receive a report from the Employee Engagement Group on the results of their engagement survey. Winners are featured in the September issue and will be celebrated at our Breakfast With the Best event.

For those just starting out, we will be selecting 10 NH startups to feature as NH’s Startup Stars in the Startup Guide in the July Business Resource Directory. In addition to a story in the magazine, the Startup Stars are also celebrated at our Launch 603 event in the fall. Businesses that were formed in the past five years are eligible to enter. The deadline to submit a survey is May 7.

Our popular lists are also returning. The list of the Top Family-Owned Businesses in NH will appear in the August issue (survey deadline is May 26). The list of the Top Women-Led Businesses will be featured in the October issue (survey deadline is Aug. 14). Companies that generate at least $1 million in annual revenue can submit surveys for those lists. The list of the Top 100 Private Companies in NH will appear in the November issue. The cut off to make that list is generally $10 million to $15 million in annual revenue, and the five fastest growing companies on the list are profiled. Companies that fall below that revenue threshold but are still fast growing can still fill out the survey to be considered as a Company to Watch.

We will be featuring the Top Law firms in NH in our June issue and the deadline to submit a survey for that is the end of this month.

You can find all the applications, surveys and event information on our website—BusinessNHmagazine.com. Do not miss your chance to be recognized. As the saying goes, you have to be in it to win it.

Sincerely,
