The YWCA New Hampshire has selected Annette Escalante, MSW, MLADC as the organization’s new President and CEO. The board cited in a press release that Escalante brings decades of experience with women, youth, and families as she previously served as vice president of another nonprofit, which helped provide care for those with alcohol or drug addiction.

Escalante is expected to sustain, grow and further develop the nearly 100-year-old statewide service organization.

“I’m honored to have been selected as the next president and CEO of the YWCA New Hampshire,” said Escalante. “This role is a true full circle in my career. Early on, I first served as a volunteer at the YWCA Springfield and then was hired as a counselor advocate. I’m excited to return to my roots and for the opportunity to serve New Hampshire communities."

Escalante is a graduate of Springfield College, the University of New Hampshire, and is a master licensed alcohol drug counselor. She is a member of the NH Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors Association and was the past president of the NH Alcohol and Other Drug Service Providers Association. She has served on the Latinos Unidos of New Hampshire Advisory Board, NH Friends of Recovery, and the Manchester Cultural Diversity Task Force.

“The Board of Directors couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Annette as the next president and CEO of the YWCA New Hampshire,” said Linette Handschumaker, chair of the YWCA NH board of directors. “Her experience, passion, and leadership for serving women, youth, and families is admirable. We’re excited to see her prosper in her new role.”

Escalante succeeds Monica Zulauf who served as the YWCA NH president and CEO for nearly eight years.
