John Swedberg, senior VP and senior commercial loan officer, (pictured here) will retire from MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank) in May after 25 years of service to the bank. Swedberg joined MVSB as a commercial loan officer in 1999 with extensive experience in commercial lending and community banking. He was promoted to VP, commercial loan officer in 2000 and to senior VP in 2014, managing the bank’s commercial lending strategy and team. Following the retirement of Bob Sargeant, Swedberg was promoted to senior staff in 2017 both as a part of the strategy team for the mutual bank and to oversee all commercial lending efforts for MVSB. “I have had the pleasure of working parallel to John for the past two decades, and his incredible impact to MVSB’s success is immeasurable,” says Marcus Weeks, MVSB President. “He has done a remarkable job supporting his employees and creating a talented, close-knit team that works hard every day to champion local businesses. John is humble, approachable, knowledgeable and his leadership style invites those around him to grow and thrive in their careers. We are all sad that John will be retiring, but it is well deserved and we wish him all the best in this next chapter.”
