In the spotlight: Jewett Construction Company, a regional design-build construction management firm and general contractor in Fremont, hired John Martin as an assistant project manager. Martin started his career as a field engineer where he managed $20 million in commercial projects. Jewett also added project accountant Kaylee Pingree who started her career as a staff accountant for Bauer Hockey.

Shannon Ketcham was promoted to mortgage loan officer for Merrimack County Savings Bank working closely with customers to assist with home loan qualification, application or refinance processes. Ketcham joined the Merrimack in 2011 as a bank teller.

Cheshire Medical Center in Keene hired Julie Virgin to the Women’s Health department. With dedicated midwife experience in working with high-risk populations in remote settings, Virgin most recently served as a certified nurse midwife at Blackfeet Community Hospital Indian Health Service in Browning, Montana. She also worked as an RN at the Childbirth and Women’s Center in Danbury, Connecticut. Prior to that, she founded and directed the Community Doula Birth Program in Southern Maine. Cheshire Medical Center also welcomes Christopher Mills, MD, to the psychiatry department. Prior to coming to Cheshire, Mills was the medical director of the Phoenix House in Keene and Dublin.

The Park Theatre in Jaffrey will livestream the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, Colorado, with seven days of bluegrass music. This will be the first live video streaming of the festival, and it will be presented in high-definition video and audio. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire and Brattleboro Memorial Hospital announced the hospital has joined Anthem’s Pathway Network of health care providers serving consumers in the individual health insurance marketplace as of June 1, to provide consumers in southwestern NH access to new health care options.

Merchants Fleet in Hooksett hired John Korte as director of last mile and mobility sales to oversee the company’s last mile business segment, which has grown 300% year-over-year, with nearly 3 million packages delivered in a Merchants vehicle daily throughout North America.

St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester, the nation’s first credit union, was named a top 10 lender by NH Housing for the 11th consecutive year for its efforts to assist NH homebuyers.

Ledyard National Bank in Hanover donated $1,000 to West Central Behavioral Health in Lebanon in recognition of their important programming and services that treat mental illness and substance use disorders, while working to eliminate the stigma. Ledyard also donated $2000 as a Community Partner to Headrest in Lebanon in recognition of its 50th Anniversary. The funds will go toward a capital campaign.

Seacoast-area nonprofit Step Up Parents is expanding its reach into the Upper Valley with a $5,000 grant from the Hypertherm HOPE Foundation, to provide financial support to kinship caregivers raising the children of parents with substance use disorder. With this grant, many more families will receive support for their individual needs, like aid with daycare costs, clothing, baby supplies, or music lessons.
