In the spotlight: The Federal Aviation Administration awarded $2.74 million in federal grants to NH airports for infrastructure, operations and safety purchases. Portsmouth International Airport at Pease will receive $1,260,000 to acquire snow removal equipment and improve an existing on-airport roadway. Lebanon Municipal Airport will receive $1,250,000 to construct a runway safety area amd to rehabilitate the terminal building’s envelope, lighting and electrical systems. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport will receive $230,000 to reconfigure Taxiway H and rehabilitate Taxiway A.

Bellwether Community Credit Union employees donated $1,200 to Families in Transition-New Horizons to help families and individuals struggling with homelessness and food insecurity.

BAE Systems in Nashua successfully flight tested its Small Adaptive Bank of Electronic Resources technology, paving the way for a software upgrade to the EC-37B Compass Call, a next-generation electronic warfare aircraft. Teams from BAE Systems and the U.S. Air Force conducted tests on 11 flights out of Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona.

It includes support for its augmented reality Hands Overlay.

Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, a part of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, has replaced approximately 2,500 fluorescent light bulbs with LED lights. Completed in partnership with Eversource and Hamblet Electric, the upgrade provides an estimated energy savings of 46,284 kWh annually.

Meredith Village Savings Bank was recognized by the Registry Review for Top Mortgage Sales in Carroll Country in 2020. Sue Ross and Kelly Beebee were also recognized as the top two mortgage originators countywide.

Kenzie Academy, which was recently acquired by Southern New Hampshire University, is launching a new software engineering program based on Amazon's Technical Academy curriculum. The program is designed to help non-technical employees gain the skills needed to pursue careers in software engineering. The program was previously only available to Amazon employees.
