In the Spotlight: The board of directors of Savings Bank of Walpole in Keene has elected Joseph A. Coneeny (left) as chairman of the board and Jason D. Houston as vice chairman. Coneeny, a retired corporate executive with extensive banking and business experience has been a trustee since 2013 and a longtime corporator for the Bank. Houston has been a director since 2012 and also serves as a local corporator for the Bank. He is a certified public accountant and managing partner at John G. Burk and Associates in Keene.

The Board of the Southern District YMCA (Exeter YMCA and Camp Lincoln) apponted Kimberly Meyer as the new CEO. She joins the YMCA after working as VP and treasury payments officer for Bangor Savings Bank in New Hampshire.

The Hobo and Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad is advising the public that the 54 miles of rail between Tilton and Lincoln should now be considered active for the 2020 season. Various train operations will be taking place from now through December, including maintenance, excursion trains, special tourist trains and equipment moves. Although passenger trains are not yet operating due to COVID-19, replacement of nearly 12,000 cross ties has begun and will continue throughout the summer months

Hannaford Supermarkets made a $15,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester, which will be used to expand support and services including a new emergency child care program for essential workers at the Union Street Clubhouse and new services such as a drive-thru dinner program and remote learning resources, including mentoring and academic support.
