In the Spotlight: Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has hired Philip Juanes as relationship manager of the Claremont office located at 345 Washington Street. And Kat Raycraft (pictured at right) has joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as AVP, and branch relationship manager of the Manchester office, which is set to open on December 10 at 1000 Elm Street.

Walgreens and Southern NH University launched a new initiative to provide career and educational opportunities for 5,000 U.S. veterans over the next five years. Through Walgreens Helping Veterans with Educational and Retail Opportunities, or HERO, Walgreens will seek to hire veterans into store leadership roles with opportunities to advance, and through a collaboration with SNHU, participating veterans can pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree from the university.

Northeast Credit Union in Portsmouth presented a donation of $7,022.67 to Make-A-Wish New Hampshire at their Annual Kid’s Halloween Party recently.  The money raised will help grant wishes of children and young people facing life-threatening conditions.

Fabrizia Spirits and the NH Liquor Commission partnered to raise $13,525 in support of Crotched Mountain, which provides services to people with a range of disabilities. As part of its annual fundraising initiative, “When Life Hands You Lemons,” Fabrizia Spirits donated a portion of profits from its sales at all 78 NH Liquor & Wine Outlets during May to Crotched Mountain.

The NH Retail Association is seeking nominations for its NH Retailer of the Year Award, which along with the Legislator of the Year Award, will be presented at the 53rd Annual Meeting and Member/ Legislative Luncheon in February.
