This Week’s Spotlight: Over 300 people participated in the 10th Annual 5K Run/Walk & Kids’ Fun Run hosted by Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock, raising over $11,000 for the hospital’s Sport Medicine program. Proceeds will help fund up-to-date rehabilitation equipment, concussion testing, supplies to prevent and treat injuries and local sports medicine education.

Sarah Stewart, co-founder and president of b-fresh Consulting in Concord, was unanimously approved by the NH Executive Council as the newest member of the NH State Council on the Arts. Stewart was nominated by Governor Chris Sununu last month.

Hinckley Allen hired Jamie Myers to the litigation practice group at the firm’s Concord office. Myers was most recently an associate at Bianco Professional Association, also in Concord.

Kara Fontaine, a principal at accounting firm Howe, Riley & Howe in Manchester, was elected to a one-year term on the St. Mary’s Bank Supervisory Committee, an independent body that oversees the credit union’s management and Board of Directors.

Merchants Fleet Management in Hooksett hired Joe Birren as senior truck & upfit engineer. Birren previously spent nine years at Donlen Leasing as a truck engineer / design consultant.

The NH Coastal Adaptation Workgroup in Portsmouth launched its new website, which includes information about reducing the risk of damage from coastal hazards like flooding from storms and sea-level rise and get involved with coastal adaptation projects in the state.

Deborah Flanders, AVP, learning and development officer for NH Mutual Bancorp, is retiring on May 19. Flanders has been with the organization for 25 years, including 15 years in the HR department.

Pontine Theatre, a resident company at the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, received $4,000 from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to perform at assisted living communities and senior centers throughout the state.

Portsmouth Regional Hospital hired Moby Parsons as an orthopedic surgeon. Parsons is one of the nation’s most experienced surgeons in joint implant procedures including use of fully customized ConforMIS implants in total and partial knee replacement.

Rochester Main Street received a $5,000 Waste Management Think Green Grant for its Riverwalk and Common Walks Improvement project. The funds will go toward purchasing and installing two Victorian-style benches on the Rochester Riverwalk and stone dust for leveling and improving walking paths on the Rochester Common.

St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester partnered with the NH Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO) in Concord to create a student loan program. Bank members can access NHHELCO’s EDvestinU® loan programs, which includes private student loans and student loan refinancing.

Construction workers began dismantling the clubhouse at the former Rockingham Park racetrack site in Salem, the first step toward breaking ground on the planned Tuscan Village district. The project is slated to break ground in June and will include more than two million square feet of residential, retail and office space over 170 acres.
