This Week’s Spotlight: Over 300 people participated in the 10th Annual 5K Run/Walk & Kids’ Fun Run hosted by Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock, raising over $11,000 for the hospital’s Sport Medicine program. Proceeds will help fund up-to-date rehabilitation equipment, concussion testing, supplies to prevent and treat injuries and local sports medicine education.

Sarah Stewart, co-founder and president of b-fresh Consulting in Concord, was unanimously approved by the NH Executive Council as the newest member of the NH State Council on the Arts. Stewart was nominated by Governor Chris Sununu last month.

The NH Coastal Adaptation Workgroup in Portsmouth launched its new website, which includes information about reducing the risk of damage from coastal hazards like flooding from storms and sea-level rise and get involved with coastal adaptation projects in the state.

Portsmouth Regional Hospital hired Moby Parsons as an orthopedic surgeon. Parsons is one of the nation’s most experienced surgeons in joint implant procedures including use of fully customized ConforMIS implants in total and partial knee replacement.

Rochester Main Street received a $5,000 Waste Management Think Green Grant for its Riverwalk and Common Walks Improvement project. The funds will go toward purchasing and installing two Victorian-style benches on the Rochester Riverwalk and stone dust for leveling and improving walking paths on the Rochester Common.

Construction workers began dismantling the clubhouse at the former Rockingham Park racetrack site in Salem, the first step toward breaking ground on the planned Tuscan Village district. The project is slated to break ground in June and will include more than two million square feet of residential, retail and office space over 170 acres.
