This Week’s Spotlight: Eastern Bank in Manchester donated $10,000 to NeighborWorks® Southern NH to support the organization’s 25th anniversary of community events. The non-profit organization was founded in 1992 to address neighborhood revitalization and housing issues in Manchester’s Center City, and has since expanded its focus to addressing the creation and availability of affordable rental housing and homeownership opportunities in Southern NH.

Bedford Pharmacy hired Natalie Godbout as pharmacist-in-charge. She previously worked as a pharmacy consultant for Dartmouth College Student Health Services and as a pharmacist at Northeast Pharmacy in Concord.

Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity will partner with Lowe’s volunteers and all-female construction crews for Habitat for Humanity’s 10th annual National Women Build Week from May 6-14. The event encourages women to spend at least one day to help build affordable housing in their local communities.

Six Monadnock Region businesses and organizations joined Healthy Monadnock’s Organizational Champion program, including Communicators Group in Keene, Corning in Keene, Hinsdale School District, RiverMead in Peterborough, The Inn at East Hill Farm in Troy and Unicron Property Management in Marlborough. To date, 180 of the region’s organizations and businesses have joined the program and created plans to establish a healthier workplace environment.

Scott Sweatt was hired as artistic director of The Little Church Theater, a nonprofit summer theater in Holderness. Sweatt is an actor who has performed regionally in Boston and New York and locally at Jean's Playhouse in Lincoln and with the Educational Theatre Collaborative at Plymouth State University.

The NH Community Loan Fund in Concord began offering loan and grant packages through its Your Turn homebuyer assistance program, aimed at making homeownership affordable for people and families with low incomes. Depending on the borrower’s situation, they may receive interest-free loans, or a grant, that can be applied to the purchase, down payment, closing costs or upgrade of a home.

St. Mary’s Bank launched a scholarship program, comprised of three $1,000 scholarships and four $500 scholarships for the 2017–2018 academic year. The scholarships are available to current St. Mary’s Bank members in good standing who are enrolled at least half-time in a degree-granting college or university.

This past Earth Day, Kathy & Frank Grossman held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Tolemac Solar at their home on 140 Ridge Road in Hollis. One of the largest residential group net metering projects in NH, the system is rated at 163.8KW and will be producing enough electricity to offset 20 homes.
