This Week’s Spotlight: The New Hampshire Audubon in Concord named Douglas A. Bechtel as president. He succeeds Michael J. Bartlett, who is retiring after eight years. Bechtel worked in various roles at the The Nature Conservancy in Concord for 15 years, primarily as director of conservation science. He was most recently executive director of Audubon International. Bechtel will begin on June 20.

Calypso Communications in Portsmouth, an integrated creative and PR agency, hired Amy Tetreault as a content developer and project manager. Tetreault previously worked as marketing director at the Tree Care Industry Association in Londonderry.

Child and Family Services of NH in Manchester appointed Maryann Evers as director of early childhood programs. Evers previously worked at the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families as mental health specialist and, most recently, regional clinical director.

Concord Housing + Redevelopment (CH+R) received a score of 95/100 from the federal government’s Public Housing Assessment System review for its properties.  CH+R owns and manages 262 public housing units and administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.

Eckman Construction in Bedford completed pro bono interior renovations at the New Horizons for NH homeless shelter in Manchester. Employees from Eckman and Whitten Works, Inc. in Massachusetts worked on the project, with materials donated by Wallboard Supply Company in Londonderry and Home Depot in Manchester.

Optima Bank & Trust in Portsmouth purchased $4,500 in tax-credits from Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth.

Great North Aleworks in Manchester received a silver medal for its IPA at the 2016 World Beer Cup in Colorado. Great North was one of 1,907 breweries from 55 countries that presented at the competition.

Bill Howell, principal of Howell Valuation, LLC, established an office in Exeter.  He founded the firm in 2003, and provides business appraisal services for family-owned and privately-held companies in New England.

The Manchester Food Co-op hired Patrick Neily as general manager. Neily most recently worked as general manager of a food co-op in Minnesota and previously worked at the Hanover Consumer Cooperative Society. He is the first full-time, paid employee for the Co-op, which has been led by a volunteer Board of Directors for the past two years.

Nobis Engineering in Concord hired Mike Ciance, Mark Henderson and Jason Pelchat as senior project managers and Scott Carter as senior project engineer. All have at least 17 years of experience and will be working in the firm’s environmental and geotechnical practices.

The Provident Bank hired Anthony Arcand as relationship officer. Arcand has fourteen years of banking experience, in several capacities, most recently managing multiple Citizens Bank locations in NH.
