Stay Work Play, a Manchester organization that encourages young people to stay and work in NH, was named a 2016 Champion in Action in the category of strenghtening communities through workforce development. As a part of the award, Stay Work Play received $35,000 in unrestricted funding from Citizens Bank in Manchester and the NH Union Leader in Manchester, as well as print media coverage over the course of six months and volunteer support.

Boothby Therapy Services in Laconia, a provider of psychological and behavioral consulting, purchased $15,000 in NH Community Development Investment Program Tax Credits from Belknap Economic Development Corporation, also in Laconia.

Devine Millimet in Manchester elected attorney Harper Marshall as a shareholder. Marshall, who is also a board member of the Exeter Area Charitable Foundation, focuses on business related matters at the firm.

Jim Gardner returned to work as a senior estimator at DEW | MacMillin in Keene, a construction and facilities-related service provider. Gardner, who left the company in 2010 to work for Consigli Construction Company in Maine, most recently worked for Landry/French Construction Company, also in Maine.

eatSafe, LLC in Bedford, a manufacturer of tamper-evident seals for the packaging industry, changed its name from Saturn Packaging effective the first of the year.

Franklin Bancorp, MHC, parent corporation of Franklin Savings Bank, elected Craig A. Jacobson and James L. Mason as corporators. Jacobson is an IT sales consultant and real estate agent with The Masiello Group, and Mason owns the Barn Store of New England and Ag Structures LLC, both in Salisbury.

During its 2015 program year, the HNH Foundation in Concord donated $974,866 in grants to 23 health-related initiatives and projects of NH nonprofits and community organizations.

Hilltop Chevrolet hired Jewett Construction Company Inc. in Raymond to renovate its auto dealership on Route 108 in Somersworth. The renovation’s projected completion date is this summer.

As a part of the HealthierUS challenge, McLaughlin Middle School in Manchester received a bronze Smart Lunchrooms award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The USDA and First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative establish guidelines for the program.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon hired Michael Ziegler as VP of corporate sales. Ziegler most recently served as the senior manager of business development at Texas Motor Speedway.

North Branch Construction in Concord was chosen to  renovate the 53,000-square-foot interior of the Career Technical Center at Somersworth High School. The majority of the project will be done during the school’s summer break, with an expected completion date set for late August.

Primary Bank in Bedford raised $30.4 million with 421 shareholders in a capital raise that ended in December 2015. This is the largest amount of capital raised by a NH-based community bank.

Douglas Heuser, co-founder and the only executive director of the SEE Science Center in Manchester, will retire in mid-February after more than 30 years with the Center. The board of directors of the Center have hired a new executive director, whom they will announce shortly.

U.S. Cellular hired Cailte Kelley as business solutions specialist for the company’s NH operations. Kelley was most recently a territory sales manager for Actsoft, a GPS-based software solutions company in Florida.
