Microsoft at the Mall of Rockingham Park in Salem presented a donation of one million dollars worth of software and 10 Windows PCs to financial literacy education organization Junior Achievement of Northern New England. The donation will be used to educate K-12 students about financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship.

Cross Insurance based in Maine acquired Sadler Insurance Agency in Nashua to extend its NH footprint. Cross acquired 90 insurance agencies over the past 50 years.

PoshHaus.com launched at the Hannah Grimes Center Business Incubator in Keene. PostHaus.com is an online retailer of home products including housewares, appliances and furniture.

Bank of NH, based in Laconia, provided $10 million in financing to help White Mountain Tissue in Gorham buy a new tissue machine and related equipment. The purchases will cost $30 million total. Bank of NH used the Business Finance Authority's guarantee loan program to help close the deal. The Gorham facility employs 200 full-time employees and plans to add 29 more when the tissue machine is fully operational.

The City of Somersworth hired Christine Davis as its economic development manager. Davis previously served as executive director of the Women's Business Center in Portsmouth and as a resource specialist with the NH Division of Economic Development, based in Concord.

The Provident Bank, which has offices in Exeter, Hampton, Portsmouth and Seabrook, earned a five star rating, the highest possible, from BauerFinancial, the nation's bank rating firm.

Baker Newman Noyes, an accounting firm with offices in Manchester and Portsmouth, was named one of the nation's top 200 accounting firms by INSIDE Public Accounting for 2012. The firm has won this distinction each of the past three years the rankings were produced.

Lincoln Financial Foundation in Concord donated $5,000 to Families in Transition in Manchester and Concord to fund the essential basket program, which provides basic necessities (such as beds, dishes, blankets and cleaning supplies) for homeless people who move into apartments.

Cobb Hill Construction in Concord finished renovations to the First Baptist Church of New London. Work included new insulation and siding, repair of the clock on the steeple and new custom-built sanctuary doors.
