Citizens Bank and WMUR-TV named Sylvia Poulin, co-founder of the Berlin Main Street program, as this month's Heart of Your City for her commitment to the city of Berlin. Poulin is the former owner of Hall of Greetings in Berlin and co-founder the Berlin Main Street program, of which she is the current chair. Heart of Your City is a partnership between Citizen's Bank and WMUR-TV that profiles influential city figures, who are featured on the NH Chronicle television program.

Three University of NH faculty members received Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Awards from the National Science Foundation and were awarded grants totaling $1.3 million. Recipients were assistant professors Yannis Korkolis and Martin Wosnik of the mechanical engineering department and Wheeler Ruml of the computer science department. The grants will fund the professors' research regarding renewable energy from the ocean, micro-manufacturing, and computer program efficiency.

The NH Community Development Finance Authority in Concord approved a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant for the Strafford County YMCA in Rochester. The grant, awarded on behalf of the Strafford Economic Development Corporation, will help fund the relocation and expansion of the center and will create 21 new jobs.

MESH Interactive Agency, a creative marketing agency in Nashua, was recently hired by Granite Healthcare Network to design a content-managed website. The network is a joint venture made up of Concord Hospital, Elliot Hospital, LRGHealthcare, Southern NH Health System and Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

Attorney Linda Johnson of the Mclane Law Firm in Manchester was appointed to the NH Nonpublic School Advisory Council. Johnson is co-chair of the firm's education law group.

NH Business Sales in Pembroke announced the sale of the Twin Mountain Country Store in Carroll to William Bochynski by Leo and Joyce Charrette, who had owned the store for six years. Stan Evans of NH Business Sales brokered the sale.

Easter Seals NH of Manchester received a $5000 grant from the Ella F. Anderson Trust to support its Community Based Services program. The program assists adults with developmental disabilities and brain injuries.

The Manchester Development Corporation provided a $500,000 development loan to Germania Front, LLC in Wilton. The company is a partnership between Alta Properties and Roedel Companies, the owners of the Hilton Garden Inn in Manchester. The loan will be used to help finance the construction renovations of the former Clarion Hotel in Manchester, which will consist of four floors of 109 rooms, a new restaurant, and 3,500 square feet of banquet space.

Peabody & Smith Realty hired Kim Lavoie as a commercial sales associate at their Franconia office. Lavoie, who has experience in the hospitality industry, will specialize in the sale of business space and multi-family buildings.

Jewett Automotive Design & Construction of Raymond completed the renovation of AutoServ NH's Nissan dealership in Tilton. The project added a steel-framed showroom to the site and charging stations for electric vehicles.

Wiggins Airways, Inc. in Manchester in partnership with AvFuel of Maine completed the renovation of the fixed based operations lobby of the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. This was the facility's first renovation since it opened in 1999.

Citizens Bank named Robert Look VP and relationship manager for commercial banking. Look will serve clients in the Seacoast region. Look joined the bank in 2011 and was previously a senior global treasury sales officer for Bank of America. The bank also named Laura Klaff branch manager of its location in Trafalgar Square in Nashua. Klaff joined the bank in 2002 and most recently served as assistant branch manager.

Community Guaranty Savings Bank in Plymouth awarded a $1000 check to Pemi-Baker Home Health and Hospice in Plymouth. The money was raised from the sale of the bank's Community Cooks cookbook.

Granite State Management & Resources in Concord announced several new promotions. Michael Levasseur was promoted to VP of compliance from his position as assistant VP of compliance. Sara Alosa was promoted to VP of guarantor services from her position as assistant VP of guarantor services. The company is a member of the NH Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHEEAF) Network Organizations.

Sterling Financial Services, LLC in Concord affiliated with the Peak Advisor Alliance national consulting firm. In addition to the partnership, Sterling made several promotions. Lisa F. Thomas was promoted to VP of operations/Associate Wealth Advisor and was made a 20% equity partner in the company. Kateri C. MacGilvra was named the operations associate and director of first impressions. Cassandra Cressy was named a marketing associate.
