Observations from a Retired College President

Marc A. vanderHeyden, president emeritus of Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, has had a lot of time to think since retiring seven years ago and reflected on seven big changes he sees in higher education. Among them, he warns "Let us encourage the entrepreneur, but let us not discourage the budding young poet" and also worries students leave high school less prepared for college.
