Published Thursday Jun 4, 2015

The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced the 2015 Tibbetts Awards and Lebanon firm Celdara Medical is on the list. The awards are given to 23 small businesses, six individuals, and three supporting organizations for their roles in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

The 2015 Tibbetts Award recipients will be formally honored in Washington, DC, on June 15, during a White House ceremony featuring keynote speaker Cady Coleman, scientist and NASA astronaut noted for her six-month expedition to the International Space Station.

On Celdara's website, Cofounder and CEO Jake Reder, was quoted saying, “For the high-risk, high-reward R&D [research and development], in which Celdara Medical specializes, SBIR is essential. To be recognized for our work with the SBIR program is an honor, and all the more so as the award is named for Mr. Tibbetts, the originator of one of the most successful initiatives – whether measured in terms of technological or economic development – that this or any government has undertaken.
