Energy Summit Scheduled for October

A public policy conference focused on New Hampshire energy policy will be held in Concord, NH on Monday October 22. The New Hampshire Energy Summit is organized by the Dupont Group LTD, a Concord-based government and public affairs company with a background in energy policy, in conjunction with several member organizations of the New Hampshire Independent Energy Council (NHIEC), a group of major NH-based energy generators and suppliers dedicated to informing state policy and supporting competitive electric markets.

Chief organizer of the event Jim Monahan said, The New Hampshire Energy Summit will offer a morning long dialogue on some of the more critical energy issues facing New Hampshire. We plan to include three main subjects in our event: low natural gas prices how these are currently impacting, and will continue to impact the face of energy and environmental policy, as well as the significant opportunities that low natural gas prices offer to the manufacturing sector; the success of competitive energy markets in New Hampshire; and, the changing landscape of energy efficiency in our state.

The Energy Summit will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Concord. Mid-sized and large energy users, energy trade professionals and policy makers are encouraged to attend.

Monahan said, The goal of the New Hampshire Energy Summit is to look broadly at the foundational elements of the New Hampshire energy arena, rather than honing-in on specific legislation or regulatory proceedings. By doing so, we hope to set the stage for the upcoming legislative session, and in some measure, to help frame the later stages of state elections.

In addition to featured speakers on natural gas markets and energy efficiency, the two state gubernatorial candidates have been invited to attend.
