Professional development is in the DNA of Heinemann, and a commitment to its employees is evidenced in several ways: by offering them a leadership development group, a mentorship program and an online learning platform that teaches business, software, technology and creative skills.
This year, Heinemann added the Sonic Boom Wellness program to improve employee well being and productivity while providing wellness challenges that engage workers with other employees and earn rewards. It provides information on a range of topics, from nutrition tips to stress reduction.
Another online platform allows employees to show appreciation for their colleagues’ work with eCards, eButtons and award nominations. Employees earn points to claim prizes from an online catalog.
This is a company that knows how to celebrate. Heinemann hosts several events for employees and their families, such as a BBQ at Hampton Beach Pavilion and a cocktail party/sit-down dinner with a band and dancing. The company also holds “Soup Off” luncheons during colder months with all funds raised going to a charitable cause.
Heinemann offers summer hours, allowing employees to add 30 minutes to their days, Monday through Thursday, then work a half day Friday.
Children of Heinemann employees can apply for a $4,000 college scholarship. The company matches up to $500 of employees’ charitable donations.
