Published Friday Apr 29, 2011

Rustic Crust CEO Brad Sterl is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 New England award semifinalist. The award recognizes those who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Sterl was selected as a semifinalist from nearly 60 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced in June at a special event in Boston.

It's an honor to be nominated, says Sterl. The men and women who join me on this list have an independence and never-say-die attitude that typify the true entrepreneurial spirit. I'm in great company.

Sterl has spent more than 25 years in the food industry with jobs in food manufacturing, franchise development, sales and marketing and restaurant management. He was CEO and director of operations for Foodee's Franchising Inc., based in Hillsborough; owner of the Owl's Nest Restaurant in Alton; and he held management positions at Weathervane Seafood, headquartered in Kittery, Maine. He started Ever Better Eating, Inc. as a contract manufacturer in 1996 and led the company through its transition into Rustic Crust, a manufcturer of all-natural pizza products.

Rustic Crust was recognized four years in a row by Business NH magazine's as one of New Hampshire's fastest growing companies, and in 2010 was included in Inc. magazine's 2010 list of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Program celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 140 cities and more than 50 countries throughout the world. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Award.
