Bigelow & Company, CPA, P.C., a New Hampshire-based accounting firm with locations in Manchester and Portsmouth, has acquired Bornstein & Sweatt, P.C., also located in Manchester. The staff from Bornstein & Sweatt will be retained and will operate as Bigelow & Company once the merger officially takes place on November 1, at which time they will be relocated to Bigelow & Company’s two locations.
“We are very excited about this merger" said Marie McKay, CPA and managing principal for Bigelow & Company. “Both firms are known for the quality and value they bring to clients, and we are confident that this will provide a deeper level of expertise and focus for each client's unique challenges.”
Partners Michael I. Bornstein and Van H. Sweatt of Bornstein & Sweatt facilitated the merger, in an effort to provide a wider array of services to clients, and allow for additional career opportunities for their associates.
“We found the professional culture, philosophy and values of Bigelow & Company to be in line with what has been maintained by Bornstein & Sweatt in our 18 years of practice” said Sweatt, of Bornstein & Sweatt. “It was a natural fit, and we are happy to bring superior offerings to our clients as a result of the merger.”
Once the merger is complete, the Bigelow & Company will have 35 employees.
