Creating a positive and fresh work culture is not easy, but Bellwether Community Credit Union knows the payoff is worth it. It is essential to maintain employee engagement, attract the best talent and work toward common goals.

At the credit union, Bellwether encourages open communication where employees can openly share their feedback and concerns. Surveys are commonly deployed, and quarterly meetings are run by the senior management where voices are heard and valued.

Bellwether promotes a healthy work-life balance. This year, it offered another bonus day that can be taken within 30 days of an employee’s birthday. Their hybrid remote work policy continues to evolve. Employees can now work from home three days a week with the credit union requiring everyone be in the office on Wednesdays.

The Employee Appreciation Day featured dinner, trivia games and prizes at the Bedford Village Inn with the board of directors in attendance to show their support for the staff. The annual Holiday Yankee Swap was held via company-wide Zoom with gift cards purchased by the credit union. The Traveling Halloween Party brought more fun games to the workplace. Employees enjoyed free tickets to the Fisher Cats suite and Christmas Carol at the Palace Theatre.

Not only does Bellwether give back to its employees, but the credit union also supports social responsibility with major contributions to New Horizons, SEE Science Center, Make a Wish New Hampshire and Manchester Crimeline to name just a few. Employees are encouraged to volunteer and receive eight hours of time to support the charity of their choice.

Bellwether enjoys celebrating employee milestones by sending out announcements of weddings, births and graduations. The credit union also wishes good luck to their departing employees as they continue their professional careers in another location.
