Adam Coughlin, Joe Raczka and Kyle York know first-hand the challenges startups face having served as executives at one of NH’s most successful startups, Dyn (which was acquired by Oracle) and then as investors and advisers to other startups.

It’s what prompted the trio to found York IE in 2019 as a “one stop resource shop for startups,” says York, co-founder, CEO and managing partner of York IE. Initially, the firm was more focused on investing in startups. When the pandemic hit, the company was barely in its first year and the founders knew startups needed multiple resources under one roof rather than having to coral multiple resources to assist them.

“Startups are not a straight line. [They] are filled with triumphs, and challenges along the way tend to be death by a 1,000 paper cuts. The pandemic made us realize why we started this in the first place. In scaling Dyn, we felt we didn’t have help to grow at the pace we wanted to grow,” York says.

In addition to investments, York IE became  an advisory firm for startups, offering corporate strategy, product strategy and development, brand strategy and marketing, and go-to-market strategy and revenue operations services as well as investment. “You go to a one-stop shop and have a partner who is flexible to meet your needs wherever you are in the cycle,” York says.

While all its client services are based out of its Manchester headquarters, York IE has 100 employees in India providing engineering and analysis services. By having those support services there, York says the company is able to achieve efficiencies and pass those savings along to startup clients. York IE also developed its own technology platform called Fuel, which is a research automation tool that provides clients with templates, AI-powered tools and face-to-face meetings with startup advisers.
