This year, CoreMedical Group implemented a new engagement and feedback tool called 15Five. The tool allows every employee, including the CEO, to complete a weekly check-in report, rating such things as how they felt at work, discussing challenges and asking for help. The tools also allow staff to create public or private shout outs to colleagues. Managers review results on Mondays and use the information to craft development tools and address issues.

CEO Aram Hampoian often recognizes an employee by leaving a handwritten note on their desk. When the company started working remotely because of the pandemic, Hampoian called different employees each week to check in, making his way through the entire staff.

To keep employees connected, the Social Committee holds ongoing activities for employees’ kids like coloring contests and bingo nights. When many moms expressed feeling overwhelmed with distance learning and managing without child care, the committee created a “Moms of CMG” group on Microsoft Teams to offer each other support, activity ideas and a place to vent.

Showing appreciation is a big part of CoreMedical’s culture. Anniversary gifts range from a $100 Visa gift card after the first year of employment to $2,500 towards a vacation of the employee’s choice at 10 years. The staffing firm also offers an annual Club CoreMed vacation for high-performing sales staff as well as operations staff who go above and beyond.

Employees are able to bring a guest for a free, all-inclusive five-night vacation to a tropical resort, which has included Mexico, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.
