UNH's Part-Time MBA Program Ranked Among Top 100

Published Wednesday Mar 21, 2018

U.S. News and World Report has ranked the University of New Hampshire’s part-time MBA program among the top 100 in the nation.

UNH’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics was the only business school north of Boston to make the top 100. This is the second year in a row that both the part-time and online MBA programs have been ranked in the top 100 by U.S. News.

UNH in Durham has designed the part-time MBA program for working professionals and offers evening classes at its Durham and Manchester campuses and online.

According to Victoria Parker, associate dean for graduate education and faculty administration, being ranked among the best part-time MBA programs in the nation is a testament to the exceptional students who choose Paul College for their studies.

“Students in our program average 10 years of professional experience, which enlivens and enriches class discussions,” Parker said. “They learn both from one another and from our experienced faculty.”

The program’s flexible locations and delivery options were created with the busy lives of their students in mind. “We offer several program options to meet the needs of our part-time MBA students, with both face-to face evening classes on our Durham and Manchester campuses and online options. They can adapt each term, depending on their other professional and personal commitments,” Parker said.

U.S. News and World Report based its rankings on five criteria for part-time MBA programs: peer reputation, average GMAT and GRE scores of students starting the program; average undergraduate GPA; average number of years of work experience; and the percentage of the total MBA program enrollment that is in the part-time MBA program.

“The Paul College part-time MBA program offers a rich learning experience and our enrollments have increased by 40 percent in the past five years,” said Deborah Merrill-Sands, dean of Paul College. “Our part-time MBA programs are taught by the same faculty who teach in our full-time programs, bringing together experienced practitioners and academics working on the cutting edge of their fields. Our industry-focused curriculum provides students with foundational theory combined with knowledge and skills that they can immediately apply in their jobs.”

Earlier this year, U.S. News and World Report recognized Paul College’s online MBA program with a top 100 ranking.

UNH offers the only part-time and online MBA programs in New Hampshire that hold the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation. Only 30 percent of MBA programs in the nation and five percent in the world hold this distinction.
