The Manchester Bar Association in Manchester announced the election of its 2012-2013 officers. New officers include President John Curran of Curtin, Murphy & Reilly, P.C., Vice President Cathryn E. In Manchester, McLane Law Firm announched that Jennifer L. Parent was been elected to the board of The Palace Theatre, a Manchester-based non-profit theatre.

Irwin Automotive Group in Laconia acquired a former gas station, gaining .59 acres and a 1,700-square-foot building with a parking lot for 50 vehicles. There will be 40 to 50 vehicles under $10,000 available for sale on the lot.

Nathan Wechsler & Company's Kelli Boyal joined the graduate accounting advisory board at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. The accounting firm is located in Concord.

The People's United Community Foundation, located in Manchester, awarded Easter Seals New Hampshire (also in Manchester) $7,000 to support the work of its special education teacher at the Robert B. Jolicoeur School in Manchester.

Speare Memorial Hospital of Plymouth announced that one of its board members, Alison Ritz, was named outstanding trustee of the year by the New Hampshire Hospital Association

In Durham, the Information Systems Management Program at the University of NH Whittemore School of Business and Economics invites businesses and not-for-profit organizations to work with students on technology-focused projects during the 2013 spring semester. The deadline for interested businesses is November 30.

Citizens Bank Foundation, located in Manchester, announced the first round of grants in its new Growing Communities initiative, a program designed to foster neighborhood revitalization and economic development activities in the state. The Growing Community is investing $85,000 to three projects.
