In the spotlight: North Branch Construction recently completed the Dartmouth Graduate Student Housing Project at 401 Mt. Support Road in Lebanon, NH. The project includes 4 four-story apartment buildings providing 309 units with 628 beds. Each building also provides student study, gathering, and fitness spaces, as well as bicycle and additional resident storage space.

The Red Arrow Diner is inviting the community to celebrate its historic past and bright future at its outdoor 100th anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 15 from 11 am to 2 pm. The diner’s section of 61 Lowell Street – from Kosciuszko to Chestnut Streets – will be closed to traffic, and all other Red Arrow Diner locations will be closed until 4 pm so employees may attend.

The National Park Service’s National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom accepted Ona Judge Staines Burial Site, a privately owned property, as one of 17 new listings from the 44th round of applications, representing sites and programs in 13 states across the U.S. These new listings, alongside more than 700 sites, facilities, and programs already in the Network, provide insight into the diverse experiences of freedom seekers who bravely escaped slavery and allies who assisted them.

LaBelle Winery is planning its second annual outdoor holiday light festival, LaBelle Lights, at its Derry location. This year's displays will be more extensive than those at last year’s inaugural event. More than 20 holiday light installations will be created using more than 250,000 energy-saving LEDs.

Parkland Medical Center broke ground on its new freestanding emergency room in Plaistow. The facility will be staffed with board-certified and board-eligible emergency room physicians and nurses 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is expected to open in spring 2023.

After a busy first month at the site of the Derryfield School’s future dining facility, design-builder Eckman Construction held a ceremonial groundbreaking. The Commons will provide a 12,000 SF addition, featuring a dining area with seating for 300+, an open servery with food stations, a pizza oven, a commercial kitchen that will house a wide range of commercial cooking equipment, and an auxiliary dish room.

Dartmouth Health’s Addiction Treatment Program is one of 18 sites participating in a five-year, nationwide study testing strategies that help new patients stay in treatment and stable patients to end treatment safely when ready. The study is already enrolling participants, delivering treatment and following patient progress.

The Alnoba Lewis Family Foundation in Kensington, an advocate for social justice, named Loretta J. Ross, an activist, public intellectual and professor, the 2022 recipient of the Alnoba Moment of Truth Award for Leadership for Gender Equity.

Heartfelt Dreams Foundation in Hollis, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the treatment experience for congenital heart defect patients and their families, named Jennifer Woo, M.D. as the inaugural recipient of its Advanced Cardiology Fellows Grant recipient for 2022.  Woo has been awarded $5,000 in financial assistance to pursue her medical training in cardiology and critical care skills to better treat congenital heart defect patients.
