In the Spotlight: St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester hired David Silva as commercial relationship manager at its recently opened Portsmouth Branch at Pease Tradeport. Prior to St. Mary’s Bank, Silva worked at Bank of America and Citizens Bank in various client-facing management capacities. Shannon Bartolomucci as member experience and relationship manager at its NorthWest Boulevard Branch. Her previous banking experience included leadership roles at GFA Federal Credit Union, NBT Bank, and Bank of America.

Plymouth State University honored four faculty members with named professorships. Patricia Lindberg, Ph.D., was named the Stevens-Bristow Professor of Education, Kerry Yurewicz, Ph.D., was named the Helen Abbott ’39 Professor of Environmental Studies, Eric G. Hoffman, Ph.D., was named the Colonel Craig Souza ’87 Professor of Meteorology, and Matthew D. Zawodniak, Ph.D., was named the Ed and Marilyn Wixson Professor of Mathematics. Each awardee will be featured speakers of PSU’s Spring 2022 Professorship Lecture Series.

Stewart’s Ambulance Services in Meredith has donated $4,500 to the Paramedic Emergency Medicine (PEM) program at NHTI – Concord’s Community College. The PEM program will use the money to purchase new mannequins as well as an in-kind donation of equipment and supplies for students to use in practice labs and classroom instruction.

Meredith Village Savings Bank promoted Jolene Whitehead to branch and business development manager. In this role, she will oversee the Bank’s new Rochester office on Route 11, which is currently under construction and slated to open in late May.

Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Norris Cotton Cancer Center and Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Department of Medicine have recruited Tyler J. Curiel, MD, MPH, FACP as the inaugural nominee for the Victoria Hall Gmelich 1991 and Justin G. Gmelich Professorship in Cancer Immunotherapy. In this role, Curiel will provide leadership for the expansion of cancer immunotherapy research including in clinical trials. In addition to the Gmelich Professorship, he will hold an appointment as Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology) at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Graduate School.

President Biden has appointed Dr. David Cash to become the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator for Region 1.  Dr. Cash will lead the implementation of the Biden-Harris environmental agenda in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and in 10 Tribal Nations. Cash has spent his career in public service; his most recent position was the Dean of the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the U-Mass Boston.

It will be in-person July 8-9, 2022. Registration is now open for the 41st Annual Prouty, benefiting life-saving cancer research and patient and family support services at Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Norris Cotton Cancer Center.
