In the spotlight: Nobis Group in Concord received an award for outstanding accomplishments by a small business contractor from the Environmental Protection Agency Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. This award recognizes Nobis Group’s notable work at the Elizabeth Mine site, which is among the largest and most intact historic mining sites in New England.

MediSpend, a life sciences tech firm in Portsmouth, received a majority investment from Susquehanna Growth Equity, an entrepreneur-centric growth equity firm exclusively focused on software and information services companies. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

The H. L. Turner Group in Concord presented $1,000 academic scholarships in architecture and engineering to Katelin Howe, a senior graduating from Bow High School, and Benjamin Sporcic, a senior graduating from Pembroke Academy. Howe and Sporcic will both be invited to complete internships at H. L. Turner Group while at college.

New Hampshire lenders and loan originators were recently recognized by the NH Housing Finance Authority for helping 1,400 homebuyers find affordable homes and loans in 2020. Denise Hubbard, mortgage loan program specialist, was acknowledged as the #6 outstanding loan officer and Meredith Village Savings Bank as the #2 participating originator.

The NH Liquor Commission recently completed its most successful sales year in history, surpassing the $4 billion in total net revenue delivered to the state of NH since it was founded in 1934. In Fiscal Year 2021, sales reached $765 million, a 5% increase or $36.5 million over the previous year. Total net revenue reached $155 million, which supports essential state services, including education, health and social services, transportation, natural resource protection, addiction treatment and prevention programs.

Prolman Realty, Inc. facilitated the sale of 5-7 Congress Street in Nashua. Mark Prolman represented Acorn Family Realty, who was the seller and assisted 7 Congress, the buyer. The property consists of a 9,600 SF office/warehouse building situated on .72 acres that was formerly the headquarters of Maple-Leaf Construction. According to the Hillsborough County Registry of Deeds the selling price was $1.1 million.

Gentle Dental just opened its second location in Manchester. Gentle Dental has seven locations in NH with 44 total practices.

Ledyard National Bank in Hanover committed to “Playing a Part” with a $25,000 donation to the New London Barn Playhouse capital campaign, which is raising funds to create a vibrant future for the community landmark. This project aims to enhance patron experience, expand educational programs and build new office and workspaces, which will include the Ledyard National Bank Conference room.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded a $341,063 grant to the town of Tuftonboro to help tbuild a new police station with improved staff facilities, a separate entry to ensure privacy and protection for crime victims and witnesses, a secure booking area, more storage space for evidence and vehicles, a secure lobby with a transaction window, and a dedicated administrative area.

Groveton School, Londonderry Middle School, and Portsmouth Middle School will each receive a new $100,000 state-of-the-art fitness center as part of the National Foundation for Governors' Fitness Councils Don't Quit! campaign.
