In the spotlight: FEEDNH.org, Great New Hampshire Restaurants’ Charitable Trust, presented a donation to support sending five fourth-grade students through the Value of Sport program at a local Manchester elementary school. Value of Sport’s mission is to incorporate the values learned from sport into children’s lives, benefiting them, their family, and their community.

Southern New Hampshire University has acquired Kenzie Academy, an Indiana-based provider of online technology training offering programs in software engineering and UX Design. Working together, Kenzie and SNHU plan to expand access to alternative credentials.

Bank of New Hampshire named Tammie Mahoney, assistant vice president, and mortgage loan officer. She has decades of experience in banking and has worked for BNH since 2008 as a mortgage loan officer. In other Bank of NH News, Kerstyn Flack joined the team of community banking professionals in Dover as assistant vice president and banking office manager.

E. & J. Gallo Winery and the NH Liquor Commission are raising $35,000 for the NH Food Bank to support one in seven NH residents who are food insecure. For the fifth year in a row, E. & J. Gallo Winery donated 50 cents to the NH Food Bank on sales of select bottles of wine sold at NH Liquor & Wine Outlets during November and December 2020.

Community Volunteer Transportation Company received a 2020 Spirit of Excellence Award for Nonprofit of the Year from the former Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce for a significant contribution to the overall health and livability of the Monadnock Region. In 2020, despite the pandemic, 71 volunteer drivers served 234 riders from 34 towns logging 69,918 miles and donating 3,474 hours of their time.

New England College in Henniker named Dr. Josh Staley as its new director of Esports. Staley previously served as director of Esports at Keuka College in N.Y., where he built the esports program from the ground up while also serving as a full-time professor of psychology. An online gamer for more than 30 years, Staley is a contributor to Genji Analytics/Oxygen Esports, working directly with NBA teams and the NBA 2K draft, and lead researcher with Gamer Sensei.

Fabrizia Spirits in Salem is introducing frozen versions of its hand-crafted, ready-to-drink, canned cocktails: Fabrizia Frozen Italian Lemonade, Fabrizia Frozen Italian Margarita, and Fabrizia Frozen Italian Breeze. The 100ml frozen cocktails follow the same recipes as the canned versions, made with Fabrizia Limoncello, freshly squeezed Sicilian lemons, premium vodka, premium tequila, and all-natural fruit juices. Fabrizia’s frozen cocktails are sold currently available in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Hearst Television station WMUR-TV was honored with the Keeping the Dream Alive Award, presented by the National Cultural Diversity Awareness Council of NH for support and coverage of diverse communities throughout NH. In February the station aired profiles of 20 notable African-Americans, told the stories of trailblazing women of color and the many contributions of African American men and women throughout history.
