In the Spotlight: NAI Norwood Group completed the sale of 30 Willand Drive in Somersworth, to the City of Dover for $749,900. Formerly owned and occupied by Mr. B’s TaeKwon Do, Dover purchased the building to use as a regional emergency overnight walk-in warming center for the area’s homeless this winter. A partnership between the cities of Dover, Somersworth and Rochester, and Strafford County, the effort is supported by $1 million COVID-19 grant that includes funding to cover all of the facility’s 2020 staffing and operational costs. Deana Arden, of NAI Norwood Group represented the sellers, Adam and Shannon Boisvert, owners of Mr. B’s TaeKwon Do, in the transaction

Girls Inc. in Nashua named Aletta Brown advancement manager. A recent graduate she will be focusing on donor development, event planning, and sponsorship sales.

Hearst TV station WMUR-TV in Manchester raised a record $102,499 in cash through its Spirit of Giving Toys for Tots—a 500% increase, with more than $30,000 collected by the State Police. Held in partnership with iHeartRadio, the US Marines, and NH State Police, the drive also garnered nearly 14,000 toys.

St. Mary’s Bank hired Sanela Zulic, branch sales and service manager at the Credit Union’s Hudson location. With more than 17 years of experience, her previous roles included mortgage originations, small businesses, and loan underwriting.

Eight community groups were presented with a $500 donation from Franklin Savings Bank in recognition of the holiday season.  The recipients included Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry and Pemi Youth Center both of Franklin, Open Door Community Kitchen located in Penacook, Bristol Community Services, Tilton-Northfield Christmas Fund, Goffstown Network, Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction, and United Way of Greater Nashua.

Cheshire Medical Center in Keene hired Jolana Washburn, APRN, AGACNP-BC, to the Hospital Medicine department. With 28 years’ experience as a registered nurse in a medical-surgical ICU, primarily at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, Vermont, Washburn also recently worked in a clinical rotation at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Amazon donated $7,500 worth of cold weather gear to United Way of Greater Nashua, including snow pants, mittens, scarves, and jackets, which will be given to Salvation Army, Milford SHARE, and the Tolles Street Mission to ensure that the gear gets to people experiencing homelessness.
